namikiteru customer get access Japanese E-mail for BlackBerry®
New York, September 27, 2005 — NTT DoCoMo USA, Inc., the American subsidiary of NTT DoCoMo, Inc., Japans largest mobile communications company, announced today that it will commercially launch “namimail™”, which enables reading and writing e-mails in Japanese-font, via Research In Motions BlackBerry. The service will be launched in October 3, 2005, as an optional service for “namikiteru”, public Wireless LAN access service provided by DoCoMo USA.
namimail users will enjoy a sophisticated and smooth Japanese writing ability on BlackBerry, leveraging language conversion functionality as well as the ability to read Japanese, including a dictionary that contains approximately 40,000 Japanese characters. With a combination of both “namikiteru™”, “namimail” enables significantly enhance their mobile productivity.
“namimail” for BlackBerry will be compatible with BlackBerry model-series 7200s, 7500s and 7700s. “namimail” compatibility for 7100-series devices will be available in later date.

Compatible Platform: BlackBerry 7200s, 7500s and 7700s. 7100s will be available in later date
Downloading namimail: Software will be downloaded via PC into BalckBerry by USB cable, using BlackBerry Desktop Manager software. After downloading customer can browse and send Japanese e-mail by selecting “namimail for BlackBerry” or “Compose namimail” on BlackBerry.
“namimail” is compatible with BlackBerry Enterprise Server v4.0.
Japanese Characters: approximately 40,000, including JIS First Standard and JIS Second Standard.
Japanese Dictionary: Basic Dictionary of 18,000 characters and an Area Dictionary of 4,600 characters. Personal Name Dictionary: 12,000 Last-name characters and 5,000 First-name characters.
