New York, August 19, 2009 - NTT DOCOMO USA announced today that it will launch its New York customer service counter, “DOCOMO Support Desk New York” on September 4, 2009, 12:00 p.m. in Kinokuniya Bookstore New York.
The service counter will assist students and business transferees from Japan in applying for cell phone service in the U.S. It will also provide the means for pre-registering for DOCOMO’s cell phone service to allow subscribers to have ready access upon returning to Japan. Also, the service counter will assist in providing support for DOCOMO customers traveling overseas, helping subscribers with DOCOMO’s international roaming services, furnishing free battery charging service and rendering help in the case of stolen or lost cell phones.
Included in the launch activities will be a “DOCOMO Dake Ice-Sculpting Exhibition” showcasing the talents of a New York-based artist. At the facility, the launch will also mark the start of a contest called the “DOCOMO Keyword Challenge,” which will conclude on Wednesday, September 23. The featured prizes will be a limited number of special-edition DOCOMO Dake cell phone hand straps - exclusively designed for New York.

| Details: | During the contest, one booth will be set up for the DOCOMO Keyword Challenge on each of three floors of the book store (see photo below). At each booth, participants can watch a video in which one keyword can be discovered at the end of each video. After collecting the keyword from each of the booths, and filling-out a contest card, participants can present all three key words at the DOCOMO support desk at the basement level of the bookstore. Successful contestants will be eligible to receive a special gift - including limited editions of DOCOMO Dake New York phone strap. |
