NEW YORK, March 24, 2010 – NTT DOCOMO USA will organize a series of important meetings and unveil deals with Android developers at the International CTIA Wireless 2010 in Las Vegas
Over the last 3-4 months NTT DOCOMO USA in cooperation with Service & Solution Development Department and Smartphone Business Department, NTT DOCOMO, INC. has increased its efforts to bring Android based developers to the Japanese market. As part of these efforts it organized an Android Developer Workshop in Palo Alto, CA on Feb 26th. This workshop was attended by a selected group of developers that have a high interest in introducing their applications in the Japanese market.
“The workshop was very successful and we are very happy the developers got a clear picture of the resources NTT DOCOMO USA, Inc. is putting in place to facilitate the migration of their applications to Japan. We already are seeing the first results of our efforts and finalizing deals with some of these developers” said Masaaki Maeda President and CEO of NTT DOCOMO USA, Inc.
The first such developer to promote its application on DOCOMO’s new web-portal (“docomo market”) will be WorkSmart Labs. Working together with DOCOMO their CardioTrainer application was ported into Japanese and is ready to be provided to the customers of NTT DOCOMO in Japan.
“There is a growing number of developers that have an interest in the Japanese market but face some barriers in terms of language and market understanding. DOCOMO USA is perfectly situated to act as a bridge for developers interested in reaching that market. We will step up our efforts towards the goal of bringing the best in class developers to Japan” said Adrian Van Meerbeeck, VP of Strategy and Research and responsible for the Android activities at NTT DOCOMO USA, Inc.
This workshop will be the first of a series of efforts NTT DOCOMO USA, Inc. will put in place throughout 2010 aiming to facilitate the developers move towards Japan.
