NTT DoCoMo USA, Inc., the American subsidiary of NTT DoCoMo, Inc., Japan’s largest mobile communications company, announced today a roaming agreement that allows “namikiteru” subscribers roaming access at select HotSpot locations offered by T-Mobile USA. Launched in October 2004, “namikiteru” is DoCoMo USA’s proprietary Public Wireless LAN access service.
Using proprietary connection manager software, namikiteru users can now enjoy high-speed wireless internet service at approximately 6,700 T-Mobile HotSpot locations in the USA such as Starbucks coffeehouses, Borders Books & Music stores, and FedEx Kinko’s Office and Print Centers. The roaming service charge is $9.99/day,*1 which will be added to the user’s monthly billing statement.
